My little firsties had so much fun making these adorable turkey glyphs. 

~The First Thanksgiving~   

This week we learned about the first Thanksgiving. My kiddos were fascinated with learning about how the Pilgrims sailed to the New World on the Mayflower and how the Native Americans taught them to hunt, fish and grow their own food. Monday, we made Pilgrim children and wrote about what we are thankful for. Tuesday, we made Native American children and wrote about how the Native Americans taught the Pilgrims to survive. Wednesday, we made bracelets with colored beads. Each color represented information they learned about the first Thanksgiving. On Friday, we made Native American vests and learned how they used pictures and symbols to tell a story. It was a week full of fun and memorable learning activities!
